The Power of New Life
"And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, 'Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here.'" — Mark 16:4-6 (ESV)
The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our faith. Without it, our hope would be in vain. As Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15:17, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins." But Christ is risen, and because of that, we can walk in the newness of life, free from sin and full of hope.
Jesus’ resurrection proves that He is more than a teacher or prophet—He is the Son of God, the Savior of the world. He endured rejection, betrayal, suffering, and death, yet the grave could not hold Him. The stone was rolled away, and death was defeated. Acts 4:12 declares, "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." The resurrection is a reminder that no obstacle, no struggle, no sin is greater than the power of Jesus.
Many of us face "stones" in our lives—burdens that seem impossible to move. It could be fear, addiction, broken relationships, or personal failures. But just as the stone at Jesus' tomb was rolled away, He has the power to remove the barriers in our lives. The resurrection is not just an event in history; it is a present reality that offers transformation and victory today.
Do you believe in the power of the risen Christ? 1 Corinthians 15:20 assures us that "Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." Because He lives, we too will live. The resurrection is God’s promise that our future is secure, and nothing is beyond His power to redeem.
Whatever has felt lost or broken in your life—hope, purpose, even faith—can be restored through Jesus. His resurrection is proof that nothing is impossible for God. Trust in Him, and walk in the freedom and victory He has already won.
Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the power of the resurrection. Help me to trust in Your victory over sin, fear, and every challenge I face. Strengthen my faith and remind me that nothing is impossible for You. May I live each day in the hope and power of Your resurrection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
