It's Not About Me
Scripture:
"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
— Matthew 6:33
Reflection:
Our culture constantly tells us to build our own lives, pursue our own dreams and protect our own comfort. The kingdom of God offers a radically different invitation. It asks us to surrender our plans for His purposes.
When Jesus called His disciples, He did not ask them to understand every detail of the journey. He simply asked them to follow. The story of the early church is a story of ordinary people who kept saying "yes" to God. Peter said yes. The apostles said yes. Believers scattered by persecution said yes. Because they did, the gospel spread from Jerusalem to the nations.
Kingdom-minded people understand that life is never ultimately about themselves. Their careers, homes, gifts, finances and opportunities are all placed at the King's disposal. They ask a different question. Instead of, "What do I want?" they ask, "Lord, what are You building, and how can I be part of it?"
God rarely reveals the whole journey at once. He usually asks for one simple act of obedience. One conversation. One invitation. One step of faith. One willingness to serve. Every significant work of God begins with someone who simply says, "Yes, Lord."
The beautiful truth is that every yes opens the door to another opportunity to partner with Him. A life surrendered to God's kingdom will always accomplish more than a life centered on self.
Today, remember that your greatest purpose is not to build your own kingdom but to advance His.

Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I have made life about myself. Help me to seek first Your kingdom above my own ambitions and comforts. Give me a heart that gladly says yes whenever You call. May my life point others to You and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
