Go in This Your Might

Go in This Your Might

Scripture:
“And the Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in this might of yours and save Israel.’”
Judges 6:14

Reflection:

One of the most surprising things about God's conversation with Gideon is that He never answered all of Gideon's questions.

Gideon asked:
"If God is with us, why has all this happened?"
"Where are all His miracles?"
"Why are we suffering?"

These are questions many believers still ask today. Yet God's response was not an explanation. God simply said: "Go."

Sometimes we want answers before obedience. We want certainty before movement. We want every obstacle removed before we take a step.

But God's instruction to Gideon was simple:
"Go in this your might."
Not after you feel stronger.
Not after the fear disappears.
Not after everything makes sense.
Go now.

The enemy's greatest strategy is often not to destroy us but to stop us from moving. Fear convinces us to stay in the cave. Disappointment convinces us not to try again. Failure persuades us that the next attempt will end the same way. But faith keeps moving.

If you can run, run.
If you can walk, walk.
If you can crawl, crawl.
But keep moving.

The breakthrough often comes to those who refuse to quit.
God was not looking for a perfect Gideon. He was looking for a willing Gideon.

Reflection Questions:

  • What step have I been postponing because I am waiting for perfect conditions?
  • Has fear stopped me from trying again?
  • What would obedience look like for me this week?

Prayer:

Lord, forgive me for allowing fear to keep me stuck. Give me the courage to move forward even when I do not have all the answers. Help me trust You enough to take the next step. Strengthen my faith and teach me to keep moving. In Jesus' name, Amen.
