The Weapon We Often Forget
Scripture:
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. "
— Revelation 12:11
Reflection:
Most of us know the first half of this verse well. We rejoice in the blood of Jesus that secured our salvation. But the second half is just as significant: they overcame... by the word of their testimony.
There is something powerful about remembering and declaring what God has done.
Life in a fallen world constantly draws our attention to what is broken. There are bills to pay, prayers still unanswered, relationships under strain and battles that seem to have no end. If we are not careful, our conversations become dominated by what the enemy is doing rather than what God has done.
Yet throughout Scripture, God repeatedly called His people to remember. Israel built memorial stones after crossing the Jordan. David rehearsed God's faithfulness before facing Goliath. The psalmists continually declared, "The Lord has been good." Why? Because testimony shifts our perspective.
When we testify, we are not pretending that life is easy. We are declaring that God has been faithful in the middle of life's difficulties. Every testimony becomes a reminder that the God who carried us before has not changed.
A testimony also silences the lies of the enemy. The devil wants us to believe that God has forgotten us, abandoned us or stopped working. But every time we remember His goodness, we proclaim that He is still on the throne, still faithful and still working behind the scenes.
Perhaps today you are waiting for your next breakthrough. Before asking God for what you still need, pause and thank Him for what He has already done. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is remembering yesterday's miracles while believing Him for tomorrow's.
Your testimony is more than a story. It is a declaration that Jesus is still victorious.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout my life. Forgive me for the times I have focused more on my problems than on Your goodness. Help me to remember, declare and celebrate what You have done. May my testimony strengthen my own faith and encourage others to trust You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
