Ginosko — The God Who Wants to Be Known
Knowing God Deeply, Daily, and Eternally
Scripture:
"And this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
John 17:3 (NKJV)
Reflection
When Jesus defined eternal life in John 17:3, He revealed something far richer than living forever. Eternal life is knowing God, not as a one-time moment but as a present continuous reality. The Greek word He uses, ginosko, describes an ongoing journey of knowing by experience, growing in intimacy, and learning His heart through relationship.
Eternal life means:
We know Him now.
We are growing in knowing Him more.
And we will dwell with Him forever.
It paints a picture of an unending relationship with Jesus, unfolding, deepening, and everlasting.
This is why at Mountain Springs Church our vision is simple and intentional:
To grow in relationship with Jesus Christ so we can change our world. We believe transformation flows from relationship, not religion. One of our core values is Intimacy, because we refuse to play church or perform Christianity. Instead, we walk daily with Jesus, listening for His voice, leaning into His presence, and experiencing His love in real time.
John 3:16 reveals how far God’s love goes.
John 17:3 reveals why.
He gave His Son so we could enter relationship.
This relationship is living, active, and growing. Every prayer, every moment in the Word, every nudge of the Holy Spirit, every time we worship, these are the experiences of eternal life now. Eternal life is not something we wait for; it is something we live from.
And the more we know Him, the more our lives look like Him. Ginosko becomes transformation. Relationship becomes discipleship. Knowing becomes becoming.
Reflection Questions
1. Do I treat eternal life as a future hope or as a present daily relationship?
2. How am I growing in intimacy with Jesus this month?
3. What rhythms can I strengthen to know Him more deeply each day?
Prayer
Father, thank You that eternal life is a growing, ongoing relationship with You. Teach me to know You more each day, not just with my mind but with my heart. Help me walk closely with Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit, and build a life of intimacy with You. Let Mountain Springs Church be a community where people truly encounter the God who wants to be known. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
