Faith Works by Love

Faith Works by Love

Scripture:

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.” Galatians 5:6 (ESV)

“Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.”
Psalm 119:165 (ESV)

Reflection

Faith is the currency of heaven. It is how we receive from God, believe for miracles, and stand on His promises. Yet Scripture makes it clear: faith only works through love. Without love, faith is powerless.

This is why love must not just be an aspiration. It must be our foundation as believers and as a church community. If we want to see the miraculous hand of God in our city, if we want to be a people marked by revival, then we must be a people defined by love.

Love is not an emotion but a decision. It is the daily choice to let God’s Word govern my reactions instead of my feelings. It means refusing offense, letting go of grudges, and celebrating others even when it costs me something. Psalm 119:165 promises that those who love God’s Word live unoffendable lives. They walk in great peace and cannot be easily shaken.

As a church, one of our core values is love. We are committed to it, not just in word but in action. We want to be known in our community as a people who forgive quickly, who extend grace, who serve faithfully, and who celebrate others. This is what makes room for miracles.

The measure of our faith is not only about how loudly we pray or how boldly we declare but also about how deeply we love. If I hold bitterness against my brother or sister, I cannot expect my prayers to carry weight. Faith thrives in the atmosphere of love.

True greatness in the Kingdom is not found in being celebrated but in becoming the one who celebrates others. When we love well, heaven backs our faith, and God’s power flows freely through us.

Reflection Questions

  • Is my faith connected to love, or have offense and pride weakened its power?
  • How can I practically demonstrate love in my church, family, or community this week?
  • Am I willing to let love define me, not just in words but in how I respond, forgive, and serve?

Prayer

Father, thank You for showing me that faith works through love. I ask You to search my heart and remove anything, whether offense, bitterness, or pride, that would hinder my faith. Help me to walk in great peace by loving Your Word and choosing love in every circumstance. As a church community, let us be defined by love so that Your miraculous hand can be revealed in our city. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
